Making a Difference

Our History

The Derry Community Fund, founded by Henry Dion in 1950, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) all volunteer organization serving families in financial need. Volunteers have worked tirelessly for the last 70 years to provide families with food baskets at Thanksgiving and toys for children at Christmas.

The Derry Community Fund is now a longstanding tradition in the Greater Derry area, serving families and individuals by providing support as needed throughout the entire year. The volunteer group primarily relies on the donations collected by the Derry News Santa Fund in addition to direct donations from local business, schools, organizations and individuals.

Our organization is overseen by a 5 member board of directors. Our community partner, the Derry News, generates donations through their yearly Santa Fund drive which enables us to continue our charitable work during the holidays and throughout the year.

Mission

The mission of the Derry Community Fund is to strengthen and enrich the lives of those in need within our community, especially during the holiday season.
